This case is about the merge of two formerly autonomous units under the same roof, where different work cultures, traditions and habits meet and need to adjust to each other in a new concerted unity. The case is about two district hospitals moving together to become a new super hospital with the challenges and leadership dilemmas that follow in such a massive change process. The case is made to simulate the becoming of a super hospital, but it can be adjusted to fit other institutions, organizations and public divisions.
In this simulation, you will have to consider how you will manage the change to create results. And you will have to reflect on how to lead the transition to get people to work with you and take part in the change process.
