Can I try a free demo?

Actually, the barriers are low to get started with trying out our games. You just need to register to get free access to a handful of games we have picked out for you to try.

All you need to do is to register with your name, email-address and your job function. Then you are ready to try a selection of our learning games.

If you are working as a consultant you can play any game as a demo version. You chose this in the beginning of building a session from your admin module. NOTE there will be a sign saying the subscription is not for commercial use. We monitor demo´s made from the Admin module and will be in contact to see if we can help you in your work with partners.

Do I need physical material to play or facilitate?

No physical material is needed in addition to playing a game. You can play all our games and work with online tools as well as facilitate without any additional material.

But should you still prefer to use handouts with the game stories and choices, you can download a PDF before starting the game. This also enables you to print the storyline and choices, or you can implement the texts in your own design document.

We also have a floorboard, which is a physical gameboard that comes with boats and stakeholder pieces, you can use to activate participants in the room and to visualize game positions of the different groups as part of a session/course.

The digital alternate for the physical floorboard is the SessionView https://actee.com/faq/#whatisthesessionview tool which can be cast to the wall and give an overview and status of games and groups.

How do I register an Actee Free subscription??

If you want to start using Actee on a regular basis, you should consider making your own subscription. This can be done for free and will give you access to the game builder, the toolbox and all the games that were previously locked when you were playing as and Actee Free user. In other words, there is no reason for you not to register a partner module.

Here is a simple step guide on how to complete this process.

Step 1: Locating the option

After creating a free user and entering the main menu, you can click the option called 'Create Subscription'. Click this button and follow the step guide presented to you.

Step 2: Creating the subscription

The creation of a subscription involves several steps of which the first five are the most important. During the last steps, you will be able to customize the visuals of your subsription. However, the last steps do not need any changing to complete the process. For this reason, we will focus on the initial five steps in this guide. Below you will find a picture of what the guide layout looks like:

- Subscription name: Come up with a name for your platform. This could either be the name of your company or something more personal, if you are working on your own.

- Business field: Select the business field you are working in. Remember to also find a sub-area – if there is only one option of sub area, you must select that one.

- Subscription owner: Decide who are going to be the subscription owner(s). You will be on this list by default, but if you want to add a colleague or a friend to your module, you can do that here.

- Sub-URL: This step is important for when you log on to the system in the future. Currently, you will be located on actee.com. However, this process will result in you having your own sub-page on actee.com, which is why the ‘app’ part will be replaced by a URL of your choice (example: freesubscription.actee.com)

- Optional: If you are purchasing a paid subscription, you will be presented with a payment flow at this point. If you are registering a free subscription, you will automatically move to the next step.

- Fill out the visuals – or skip this: At this point, your partner module has been created and is ready for use. You can, however, add your own logo and maybe a few colors to the page on the last steps of the step-guide.

Good luck and have fun with your new free or paid subscription!

Make Your Own Game!

What is the Game Builder?

The Game Builder is a tool, which enables you to design or tailor your own games for your subscription.

You can build your own game within the main concepts of ActeeChange, ActeeLeadership, and ActeeCommunication, where you can choose both long, short, and mini versions. You can create your own games by using one of our existing games as a template in the Game Builder. Certified consultants with their own partner module can access the Game Builder. Company subscriptions also have access to the Game Builder. More info on subscriptions here

Depending on your purpose and ambitions, you can use the Game Builder to build a new game with your own storyline, dilemmas, and theories or you can just change a few elements (e.g. company name or stakeholder descriptions - see the adjustable elements in the list below) and you are ready to go with your customized game.

If you are interested in grappling with designing or making your own adjusted game version in one of the game concepts, you can start the Game Builder guide in the Game Builder tool, which will walk you through the necessary steps and help you to get started with building your game.

How do I access the Game Builder tool?

You need to have a customized subscription or access to a customized subscription as a super user in order to work with the Game Builder tool.

Gaining access can be done by either being part of a company subscription or by registering as a certified consultant and creating a partner module. If you are interested in purchasing a company subscription, you should visit this FAQ section. If you have participated in a certification with one of our trainers, you should consider registering a partner module. You can find a guide on how to do this here.

Is it possible to change the maximum number of characters once the game is designed.

Yes you can add or extract more people (stakeholder) in your game.

1. Go to you games under the gamebuilder tool (from your dashboard after logging in to Actee www.actee.com)

2. Pres edit on the game. (or add new game if you haven't work in the game builder before)

3. Go to stakeholder info.

4. Pres on a stakeholder that will open below. You can add up to 10 stakeholder.

How do the theories that are selected in an option (on the right side) show up in the game.

In front-end of the game the player cannot see the theory you have added or selected. unless you describe it in your result text - Feedback window to the player. We advise 100% transparency and links to theories and research allowing accreditation for great work someone have spend life on. But also to encourage the player to dig deeper and learn more.

Theories show in the end of the game in 2 ways.

1. as a leadership profile. depending on the choices of the players.

2. as profile (if you have added this when you add the theori in the backend.)

This section is explaining the basic of the theory section and opportunities in the game builder. https://actee.com/faq/#theoriesandprofileoptioningames

Program the impact of the option or start position of your game.

As the game developer you are also the expert on your theory. You are also the right person to make decisions on how a theory in your choice, in your story, is calculated.

You make the movement in your game. The better movement in the triangle of, theory, story and movement the better game. So work with the movement.

Movement is changed under the option and result section.

You can change 2 elements.

1. the start position of a chapter.

2. the movement of each option.

(depending on your game and game board you are working with movement options will vary eg. Actee change game Actee Leadership Game Actee Comminication game + more to come)

Movement of start position:

Change the movement of an option in your game:

Remember you are the expert and the system needs your knowledge to make the specific movement related to your theory and history.

Time, resources for the player in games and chapters.

In actee each option has a # of hours and each chapter is limited to a certain time. Where to program this?

You have to make 2 steps.

1. Click time on by using the the grey toggle.

2. Set the time

(in big games we have great experience with 100 hours). Note you also need to set time on options after you have added time on to your chapter.

Can the manager be part of the team/project in a game. Eg. In most games the players are not on the board. Would that make sense?

Yes it can make sense but!

The more complex the story and the more you need the player to understand the more text you need to explain.

You might want to consider to make a game including the manager in the leadership games?

Note we are adding up and opportunity to display your games to all users soon we love to get feedback on such a game.

How do you simulate/test the game (during the development)?

Step 1. You need to publish your game. done in your game-builder / game overview.

(Note when you have made games you need to make a copy of your game before you can start deleting chapters and adding chapters)

Step 2.

On A subscription

2.1 Dashboard

2.2 Concept (change, leadership, communication +++)

2.3 Games find your game

2.4 start game.

What is a challenge, case and rounds?

Legacy wording....

Challenge = Chapter

Case = Game

Rounds = Chapter

We are trying to keep up:-)

Please send more question they are great.

The handout issue can be resolved by updating the handouts in the game builder.

Step 1. Find various settings:

Step 2. Press update handouts options come below after clicking on various settings.

Step 1: The process of building a game

The case-interview: Writing up a new game for a client forces you to think about what the client need from the game. For that reason, you should set up a case-interview where you figure out exactly what they expect. Locate the people you need to talk to and arrange for an interview.

Initial draft: Once you have completed the initial interview, you should start working on the key elements of the game and present these to the client.

Final draft: Once you have finished the game, you should prepare a test-session with your client where you can test the game and make sure that the goals for learning are met.

Corrections: Use the notes from your test session to make the final corrections and, if needed, start working on translations for the game.

NOTE: meeting with the client must ensure that you get the following:

1: Get information on what is needed and how you intend on getting there.

2: Working on writing the game (a group is working on stakeholders in the game or, see the www.actee.com/FAQ for more info on this process)

Step 2: The structure of the Game Builder

Step 3: Selecting a theory

You can add any theory or model you like to any game in Actee.

Before you start, you need to decide on what framework you want to use. This is obviously depending on the receiver of the game and the learning outcome.

Here you need to clarify questions like:

1: Is it a change?

2: Are we working on leadership development?

3: Is it communication?

This will direct you to some of the theories you need to use. Some of the game already have some theory embedded and you might want to reuse those.

You can also add your own in the Theory section.

You can always add or extract theories later. NOTE the option of the profile theory section.

Less theory = The less theories you have, the easier your game is to understand for the player. If you want participants to play with out facilitation, less is more….

More theories = give you a need for a facilitation guide and you get more to unfold with the group. This is great for the learning and your learning goal can be much higher.

Can I change the 4 level in the Change Game? Yes you can here are the steps:

1. Log in

2. Find your game

3. Various setting

4. Customized Resistance Level

Step 4: Deciding on a narrative

You need to clarify this for you story before you dig too deep into the game:

1: Player perspective (what role is the player supposed to take on? How many stakeholders will be presented to the player and how is the player supposed to reach the goal?)

2: What is the ending and starting point of the game.

3: What is the "problem"?. Here you have to think of problems the player have to solve in the game. A great game have one major problem per chapter.

4: The number of chapters. (is connected to the above.)

Here are some questions and issues you need to know of:

Example of introduction:

COMPANY X is faced with the task of strengthening customer relations. This will gradually happen through a deconstruction of elements that formerly separated decision making into different departments.

The goal is to achieve a better customers service whenever and wherever that customer should interact with the company. The process of change has already begun through the implementation of a new CRM IT-system. The tool provides streamlined information on the customer, regardless of what specific department is doing the research.

The initial phase of the change is expected to spark uncertainty on how the change is going to impact every employee. At this point, it is necessary to drive the process in a meaningful direction, which is a difficult task when there is a change in power, approach and process.

X as a company/organisation:

What type of company is x? How would the company be reasonably described?

Special identity? How are you different from other companies?

Style of leadership

National/global

Ambitions

Development

Products

Primary customers

Competition

Vision and goal

Motto

Inspiration

The current situation?

What do you need the case for?

Who should primarily use the case? (manager level)

In conjunction: Who is the typical leader in your company? Would it make sense to design the case to reflect this “type” of person? (the case is played through the eyes of this person).

Who’s referred to?

How many employees does that person currently have?

What is the title of that person?

What is his/her primary responsibility? Secondary? (fields of responsibility and authority)

What could be the challenges of making this leader embrace and work with the process of change?

What is the leader supposed to change throughout the process?

Any structural changes (layoffs, new employee profiles etc.)?

Organizational structure:

How is x structured?

Do you have any traditions that you want to keep from changing?

In what ways, do you seek to improve employee satisfaction and development?

The new situation (earning goal in everyday work life):

How would you describe the new normal that needs to be implemented?

What is its name (leadership model, the new project or alike)?

To what extend do you seek to implement the system?

What is the general goal with the new normal?

What is the current plan for the process?

The time schedule?

The approach to change projects:

Do you have experience implementing change projects in this company?

If yes, what were the reactions of your employees?

What proved to be especially challenging?

What did the managers experience as difficulties?

In a larger perspective, did the company itself suffer from any of this?

What proved difficult to complete the change?

What could go wrong? What kind of challenges should the managers be prepared to meet?:

Strategic challenges?

Political agendas?

Unfulfilled goals?

Challenges relating to current tools?

System meltdown

Structural challenges?

Problems with competence?

Employees not reaching the aim of general competence level?

Challenges on management level?

Time pressure? Resource pressure?

Cultural challenges?

Conflicts?

Sabotage?

Confusion and misunderstandings?

Step 5: The stakeholders

The set of people you are working with in the game need to reflect the context of the story.

Considering the characters of the case – which functions and/or titles would seem to fit the representation of your employees in the case?

What kinds of tasks are they handling during a normal work day?

Following the coming change process, how exactly would the employees have to change their tasks and focus?

What benefits and/or disadvantages would the employees possibly point out following the change?

Step 6: The movement

Movement is connected to the theory and your choices. Therefore, we advise you to add the text to the game and them work on the movement.

Remember the movement must be connected to:

When in the process you make a choice

What the story is when you make the choice and the movement must be aligned to the theory.

The movement can be done as a fixed position or the choice can be adding to an existing position.

NOTE: you can use the movement to create a clear situation and a clear connection to theory, real life or…  by letting one choice affect the game a lot or very little.

This is called a disjunction (peter Jarvis) and creates an opening with the player to understand why the game did not do as the player expected.

This calls for clear explanation in the facilitation guide and in the result text.

Step 7: Review the game and do final corrections

Once you have finished the game, you need to test and replay the it several times to ensure that everything plays out as you intended.

Publish the game

You can, at any time, make a copy of your game for your clients and you can always make a copy and start customizing the game to make a shorter, faster or longer game for other purposes.

Tutorial - play an ActeeChange game

This is an instruction video for our ActeeChange games. ActeeChange is a game concept with games with a range of themes within change management, digital transformation and organizational development in the company or organization. ActeeChange is a learning simulator used around the world by leaders and change managers who wish to broaden their own horizon on driving complex change processes in the organization as well as rolling out the knowledge throughout the organization. ActeeChange has been used by our customers as a tool to drive many changes of for example system implementation in the organization.

How does the score work in ActeeChange?

The scoring system of ActeeChange is a feature that enables you to compare your results with others and compete. You can compare the score of the players participating in a Team Challenge or in a Battle game. You can also use your score to see how you are doing compared to others in the Data Module tool, where you accumulate results for your personal game profile.

The score of the game is based on your last five choices. An example of the score is illustrated in the pictures below. The number in the brackets, in this case, 200, shows the score of the 5 most recent choices made, and the score to the left shows the total score up until this choice. Therefore, when making the next choice, the total score will be 925. However, only the five most recent choices will be counted in your score, as to avoid differentiation between someone who has made fewer choices than hours, as some choices require more hours.

However, after each chapter has ended, you will have moved your boat to a certain field, depending on the choices made. The further you move the boat, the more points you will have. That is why it is important to make the right decisions throughout the entire game! The scoring system also factors in how many stakeholders you have left off the boat, as well as their resistance levels. So, remember to keep your stakeholders satisfied and onboard the change. The calculations behind the scoring system are illustrated below.

Note:

Here you can see an example of how the score is calculated:

Let's imagine that you will make 5 choice in a chapter - to make it simple, they all reward 100 points each.

- Choice 1 will give you 100 points (total score = 100 (1))
- Choice 2 will give you 100 points (total score = 200 (1+2))
- Choice 3 will give you 100 points (total score = 300 (1+2+3))
- Choice 4 will give you 100 points (total score = 400 (1+2+3+4))
- Choice 5 will give you 100 points (total score = 500 (1+2+3+4+5))

This will result in a total of 500 points. However, should you make more choices than 5, your points will be adjusted. As mentioned above, the points will be calculated based on your 5 most recent choices. This means that you will get a different total score the moment you make more than 5 choices. The results of the first choices will thus be replaced by the most recent.

- Choice 6 you 110 points (total score = 510 (Choice# 2+3+4+5+6))
- Choice 7 you 110 points (total score = 520 (Choice# 3+4+5+6+7))

The reason for this is if you have 100 hours and you get point each time you make a choice, the cheap choices will allow you to make more choices and this will result in players going for low cost (resources/ hours) choices to make more choices to win the game in points.
This can potentially create the understanding that many cheap (resources/ hours) choices always will create a better result.
This can also potentially create an understanding that fast solutions will create the most impact - which is rarely the case!

You can always click on the score and get the calculation for the specific situation.

ActeeLeadership - Gameplay

What is ActeeLeadership?

ActeeLeadership is one of the main concepts in Actee's digital simulation game universe.

With ActeeLeadership you can develop your professional leadership skills and work with your personal repetoire of how you approach and deal with situations and decision-making.

Within the ActeeLeadership concept, you can find a range of game cases designed with different storylines and dilemmas in focus.

Use the DataModule to support the learning and impact of the ActeeLeadership game, which can help you compare your leadership or leadership profiles across the organization. Furthermore, you can compliment your leadership profile with the StyleTrade exercise.

How does the score work in ActeeLeadership?

The scoring system of ActeeLeadership is a feature that enables you to compare your results with others and compete. You can compare the score of the players participating in a TeamChallenge or in a Battle game. You can also use your score to see how you are doing compared to others in the DataModule tool, where you accumulate results for your personal game profile.

In ActeeLeadership, your score is based on two factors: the accumulated score of your last five choices and your Round Score.

Your score consists of two variables: a goal score and a barometer score. The better you are at achieving your set goals and achieving a positive climate barometer, the higher your score. The score of your last five choices illustrates how well you have been able to achieve this positive climate. The Round Score is dependent on the previous choices you have made in the game, which will affect the overall status of the barometers and goals. Therefore, you need to make the right choices throughout the entire game to achieve the best scoring result!

We have created games in the change section working on change and Leadership.

Here you find PPT explaining the connection between Change and Daniel Goleman.

https://actee.com/media/2361/6styles3_styleandchange_uk_v1.pdf

Note there are other theory embedded in different games.

If you are certified you have access to the consultant toolbox in here you will find much more about each theory and the combination to the tools. Change, Leadership, Communication.

So remember to keep your stakeholders satisfied on the barometers. The calculations behind the scoring system are illustrated below.

When you click on the score in the game you will see the actual score for that specific choice you have made.

Note:

Scores that count can be illustrated like this in for games:

- Choice 1 you 100 points (total score = 100 (1))
- Choice 2 you 100 points (total score = 200 (1+2))
- Choice 3 you 100 points (total score = 300 (1+2+3))
- Choice 4 you 100 points (total score = 400 (1+2+3+4))
- Choice 5 you 100 points (total score = 500 (1+2+3+4+5))

FROM HERE THINGS BECOMES THE LAST 5 CHOICES YOU HAVE MADE.

- Choice 6 you 110 points (total score = 510 (2+3+4+5+6))
- Choice 7 you 110 points (total score = 520 (3+4+5+6+7))

The reason for this is if you have 100 hours and you get point each time you make a choice, the cheep choices will allow you to make more choices and this will result in players going for low cost (resources/ hours) choices to make more choices to win the game in points.
This can potentially creates the understanding that many cheep (resources/ hours) choices always will create a better result.
This can also potentially create and understanding that Cheep choices always have a little impact (this is not the case).

Therefore games always calculates the last 5 choices made in the games.

You can always click on the score and get the calculation for the specific situation.

ActeeCommunication - Gameplay

What is ActeeCommunication?

ActeeCommunication is one of the main concepts in Actee's digital simulation game universe.

ActeeCommunication is a game concept designed to work with relational communication. Learning with the game helps you develop a new sense of tact, awareness, and understanding of how you as a professional can direct the conversation and dialogue to the best outcome.

Within the ActeeCommunication concept, you can find a range of game cases designed with different storylines, dilemmas, and stakeholders in focus.

Use the DataModule to support the learning and impact of the ActeeCommunication game, which can show your personal profile to set new goals, to discuss with other likeminded, and to see the impact of your learning and development.

Learn more about ActeeCommunication here.

Download a sheet with illustrations and outlines of all three concepts here.

How does the score work in ActeeCommunication?

The scoring system of ActeeCommunication is a feature that enables you to compare your results with others and compete. You can compare the score of the players participating in a TeamChallenge or in a Battle game. You can also use your score to see how you are doing compared to others in the DataModule tool, where you accumulate results for your personal game profile.

In ActeeCommunication, your score is based on two factors: the score of your last five choices and your Round Score.

Your score is calculated on how well you communicate within the 8 communication styles. The better you are at communication with the style(s) that the situation calls for, the higher your score will be. The score is reflecting the theory about broadening your repetoire of communication styles, and therefore different situations will call for different approaches throughout a game. The score of your last five choices illustrate how well you have been at communicating your last five choices. The Round Score is dependent on the previous choices you have made in the game, which overall will affect how well you have been at communicating the 8 styles. Therefore, you need to make the right choices throughout the entire game to be on top of the scoring system!

Game Modes when you do facilitation

Single Player

The Single Player mode is perfect for when you are playing on your own. This Game Mode is stripped of fancy features and will only focus on the choices you make throughout the game.

Battle Mode

The Battle Mode is what you need when you want to spice up your game with a little competition. This type of game is played just like the Single Player. However, scores will be kept all the way through the game and you will be notified whenever you take the leader - or lose it to one of your colleagues. This Game Mode is perfect for when you are introducing others to the game or if you are playing in a small group of people.

Team Challenge

The Team Challenge is the best way to play and facilitate Actee games. In this Game Mode, you and your participants must be divided into groups of typically 4-5 people. Throughout the game, participants must first make individual choices and then turn their attention towards the other group members and find the choice they can agree on to the largest extent.

This way of playing takes a little longer than the others but makes up for it by providing invaluable learning for the participants. The exercise of picking an individual choice and then argue as to why this is the better choice adds another layer to what participants learn from the game. Personal experience is allowed to enter the game this way, which helps on the exchange of knowledge and information.

Here is a video on the Team challenge https://youtu.be/smQUGWVbjIU

Step guide - TeamChallenge game dynamic

This is a visual stepguide of 5 steps to the TeamChallenge game function and dynamic. The TeamChallenge is perfect for game sessions and workshops in groups to create a fun dynamic between players in the group as well as between the groups.

With the TeamChallenge function all players in the group will make individual choices in every round before discussing which choice to go with as a group. In this way, every player can compare own preferences with the group decision, and at the end of the game every player will get a personal profile based on the individual choices in the game. During the game in a session you can use the SessionView tool to get an overview of the status and score of each group in the session.

Step 1.

All players need a device to participate. Each player onboard a group in the session.

Step 2.

In each round every player will make individual choices before deciding on a joint decision.

Step 3.

For the best dynamic and result, the group has to discuss and collaborate to decide which choices to go with as a group.

Step 4.

When the group decision has been made the gamemaster in the group can complete the choice on behalf of the group. All members in the group can take on the crown of the gamemaster to lead the group well through the game.

Step 5.

As a facilitator of a TeamChallenge session you can open the SessionView tool to get an overview of the status, position and score of the groups. Use this visualisation to discuss and reflect on choices, results and experiences and learnings throughout the game.

When you play Actee 100% online your web tool will give a frame on what we advise you to use as your Game mode.

Below is a web tool overview, but please pay attention to the information from your provider of your web tool. They might have some great ways of using the tool. Here is the easy to understand overview.

Here is our Game mode advice for both setups.

Please note if you want to play the Team challenge Game mode but you are working in a plenary setup then we advise you to break the session when participants play.  Let groups come together outside of your session allowing them to discuss and talk related to choices they make in the games.

Before breaking the session up you need to ensure participants know the Team challenge game structure. Find more on the Team challenge Game mode here: https://actee.com/faq/#teamchallenge

When you make your session you will be able to find a facilitation guide and on Actee games we also add script books/ detailed time plans for how to play the games.

As a certified consultant you find theory powerpoints and more script books and background material in the facilitation Tool box under the dashboard.

Find more on certification here: https://actee.com/certifications/

Session

Step guide - Creating your own session

Here you will find a guide to making a session on any type of Actee subscription!

If you don't know what a session is - check out this section!

Making sessions is easy but you must have an active subscription to start creating them. If you do not know how to create a subscription, please follow this link.

Step 1 - Locating the Session Builder:

Once you are logged on to your subscription (whether it is free or paid), You must locate the option called 'Facilitation tools' on your dashboard. After that you must find the option called 'Session Creator':

Step 2 - Placing the session:

On the first step of the Session Creator, you must select where the session should be located. If you are only attached to one subscription, there will only be one option. However, if you have an Actee Free subscription and is also attached to a paid subscription as a superuser, you must select where to put the session.

This is also where you select whether or not you are doing a demo session.

Step 3 - Session ID:

Select a session ID. This ID acts both as the name of the session and as a password for your participants. The ID should be short but descriptive to avoid spelling errors and other mistakes:

You navigate back and forth by clicking the small arrows on top of the window:

Step 4 - Select content:

Select the content you want for your session. You select a game by going to the concept of interest and picking a game from the list. First, you will be asked to select a game. Then, select long or short version of the selected game. The long version takes longer to facilitate but will have some interesting pre-chapters ahead of the main chapters. And finally, select the game-mode you want to play - for information on the game modes and how they are played, check out one of these links:

Single Player: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wY-ODVRHb-E

Battle Mode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY1TVqhv5hk

Team Challenge: video in the making

Once you are satisfied with the contents of your session, you can move on. Please notice that your participants will only have access to the contents of the session itself for a month - adding more stuff to your session is free of charge!:

6. Payment (only for Try-it-Out)

Finally, if you are purchasing a Try-it-Out package, you will be taken to a payment page. Here you can decide if your sessions should be able to contain 20 or 30 people. Once payment has been finished, your session is ready for action!

If you are not going for a paid session, you will automatically be taken past the payment section and your session will be ready to go!

7. Sharing the session

Once you have completed all of the above steps and your session is fully prepared, you can extract a direct link to either the full session or a single element (game, quiz, and tool). You will be taken directly to your session view after completing the session. Here you can copy the session ID or make a direct link to join your session.

1. The session ID

2. Create a link to your full session

3. Create a link to a specific element

If you are having any doubts as to how to onboard participants, please follow this video guide or send it to your participants ahead of the session: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTMStPDikNs

Can I assign a particular language to my session?

You can’t decide the language when creating a session. The language will be automatically adjusted to what the participants select as their primary language. Note that some simulations only have a few language layers which means that participants will have to select another language at the beginning of the game than the one they initially selected.

Please do cotact us if you are having any trouble. Otherwise, good luck and have fun!

Step Guide - Onboarding Users

At this point, you must have a session prepared - if you missed that step find the session creator

To onboard users, you must have a session ID or session link prepared - these can be found in your session view

Direct links will take your participants to our login page where they can either enter a guest name tag or register a user. To log in with a session ID, go to https://actee.com/, click login in the upper right corner of your screen, and enter as either a registered user or a guest. The session ID can be submitted in the login page.

You can add participants to your session in 3 ways.

1- by providing participants with either a session ID or a direct link and letting them enter the session as a guest user

2- by getting participants to register a new user in your session and guide them in to your session

3- by adding users in to your session on the flow when you create your session

Option 1 explained

1. Go to actee.com and click 'login' in the upper right corner of your screen.
2. Enter a guest name tag and enter the session ID just below. If you are using a direct link, the name of the session will appear just below your name automatically.

Option 2 explained

step. 1. go to www.actee.com

step. 2. users need to register or if they are users already to log in to Actee.

step. 3. find join the session upper right corner.

step. 4. add the session id (you find your unique session id in the session list or session view)

step 5. Choose the module the participants need to work in. Remember you can close a module or open a module in the session view this can prevent participants going in to the working module at the wrong time. you can also set the system to automatically invite participants to small games or invite them to work in tools at a preferred time. this is also done in the session creator flow or after in the session view.

Step 6. open the module including your text and start the games or tart working in the tools.

Enjoy your game and feel free to call us at 004570707505 or write to us at info@actee.com

What is a session?

Use sessions to design courses where you control content, focus and accesses.

A session is a program/course you can build by choosing and combining available elements (games and tools) you need for a customized learning activity.

If you are going to facilitate, teach or drive a course with a number of participants, you can use the SessionBuilder to build a session.

Why build a session?

You need to build a session to facilitate games with groups and to onboard particpants directly to a specific content.

If you want to facilitate, teach or drive a course with a group/several groups, you need to build a session. A session is the only way to create groups. If you want to use the multiplayer function in a game, you need to create a session and attach groups to it.

The advantage of working with sessions is also that you are able to onboard your users/participants directly to the content (games and tools) that you have chosen for the session. You onboard users to your session by sharing the Session ID/name of the session with them, which they type in after user creation/login.

What is the Session Builder?

The Session Builder is a tool you use to build sessions.

When you use the Session Builder, you are walked through a number of steps, where you are guided to fill out the needed information to design your customized session:

1. Give your session a name/ID
2. The number of participants to join the session
3. The number of groups you will divide the participants into
4. Maximum number of participants in each group
5. The start and end date of the session (determining the timespan for joining the session with the ID you've created)
6. Choose the specific games and tools you want to use for the session
7. You have the option of inviting fellow consultants to join the session with the same access rights as you
8. Add licenses to the session and you are ready to invite the participants

It's up to you if you want the participants to 'prepare' for the course by creating a user beforehand or if you just want them to create a user and log in as part of the course.

What is the Session List?

The session list is a list of all the sessions you have created or are invited into as a partner or a consultant.

The session list shows you both upcoming, active and previous sessions.
You need to create a session (in the session builder) before you can find the session list.

How can I use the Session List?

The Session List gives you an overview of all sessions you have access to, and you can edit information from the list.

On the SessionList you can see the basic information about every session and you can enter the session to edit details.

The Session List contains:

1. Name of the session
2. Date when the session was created
3. Start and end date of the session
4. Number of participants that can enter the session
5. If the session is complete and ready to join
6. You can move remaining access from a session
7. You can copy the URL of the session, which you can share with participants to enter the session without using the Session ID
8. You can reenter the session in the Session Builder to change/redesign a range of elements in the session.

You need to create a session (in the Session Builder) before you can find the Session List.

What is the Session View?

In the session view, you can review your session and see which users are attached to it.

The session view is a useful tool to keep track of the users attached to a game, review an ongoing session, follow the progress of a game, and see the current status of different groups in a session.

For example, if you are facilitating a course with a multiplayer game, you can follow the progress of the different groups.

You need to create a session (in the session builder) before you can find the session view.

How can I use the Session View?

Use the Session view to review status of your game session and users - which you can also project to the wall/floor as a virtual game board.

The Session view is a useful tool for facilitators to keep track of the status of the game in 'group view' (status of participants in a group) and 'Collected View' (comparison across all the groups in a session). Click 'singleplayer' or 'team challenge' depending on the game setup you have used.

In Session view you can check up on:

1. Available seats in the session
2. Session participants
3. Attached consultants in session
4. Number of groups
5. Total accesses
6. Accesses used and remaining

Furthermore, you can keep track of participants attached to a sesssion:

1. Name of the participants
2. Email adress of the participants
3. The group they are in
4. If they have status as consultant or user
5. Their last login time

If you need to see a complete list of all your sessions, check-out the SessionList.

We have two kinds of automated emails that you can use as a facilitator to prepare participants for a session or a game. Read through this short guide to get a better understanding:

Sending mail when you are creating a session:

There are three ways to get mails send from the system.

1. In a session when adding users.

2. On the module itself (game, quiz, Style trade, Word cloud, or any other module).

3. Scheduled modules:

- Use the calendar symbol to schedule a module

- Choose the date and time of the invitation. Invited users will receive an e-mail 5 minutes before the module is opened

There are two ways of sending emails out from the system.

1. Send now (when you finish the session/course creation)

2. Schedule to a specific time of your choice (one day before the session, the evening before or alike)

BUT! When you schedule a module as above (game, quiz, Style trade, Word cloud, or any other module)

The email will be sent five minutes before the start of the module.

No matter how you choose to send emails from the system, there will be sent two types of mail.

1. To people unknown to the system. Will get a mail including a link and a code.

2. Already know emails will get a mail including a link to the session and module.

If you want to register users but NOT want to send emails from the system, then just proceed without choosing when to send an email.

Let´s look at some examples:

1. You create a session attach users but don’t schedule module or send emails. = no emails will be sent.

2. You create a session add no users but schedule one of 2 modules (the last module). The mail will be sent to all users attached to the session 5 min before the session.

3. You add new users and send the mail now. And you schedule module 2. There will be sent 2 emails to new users after you finish the session. And there will be sent 1 email to users already know to the system with an invite to join the session. The second module email will again be sent 5 min before module 2 opens. (3 emails to new users, 2 emails to know users from the system)

4. You add a session with 5 modules and the last 4 modules are scheduled. No adding users. You log users into your session when you have them in the session. And there will be sent a mail to all attached users you have logged into your session. The invite to the modules will be sent 5 min before each module you have scheduled.

Can I assign a particular language to my session?

You can’t decide the language when creating a session. The language will be automatically adjusted to what the participants select as their primary language. Note that some simulations only have a few language layers which means that participants will have to select another language at the beginning of the game than the one they initially selected.

Yes you can end and stop a session.

When you are building your session in the session creator: You can schedule the session to stop being accessible by participants after the date you have set.

If you want to end a session already done you have to go to you session list.

- Go to Dashboard

- Go to admin

- Go to Facilitation tools

- Go to session list

- Find the session press on edit

- Select the date and press complete

1. New User

The first thing you need is your own user. Users can be created by going to https://app.actee.com and clicking the button 'New User'.

2. Locating the Session Creator

Locate the option called 'Facilitation Tools' by expanding the admin menu on the dashboard. The admin menu can be found by clicking the small plus sign just below the three concepts. After opening this menu, you will see the option 'Facilitation Tools' as shown below. After clicking this button, you must go to the 'Session Creator' - also shown below:

4. Session ID

Select a session ID. This ID acts both as the name of the session and as a password for your participants. The ID should be short but descriptive to avoid spelling errors and other mistakes:

See this youtube guide on how to let your participants join your session: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTMStPDikNs

You navigate back and forth by clicking the small arrows on top of the window:

5. Session Content

6. Payment

Finally, you will be taken to a payment page. Here you can decide if your sessions should be able to contain 20 or 30 people. Once payment has been finished, your session is ready for action!

If you are having any doubts as to how to onboard participants, please follow this video guide or send it to your participants ahead of the session: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTMStPDikNs

Please do cotact us if you are having any trouble. Otherwise, good luck and have fun!

What are the different types of sessions?

There are three types of sessions: Try it Out, demo and company sessions.

Try it Out: is a session that lasts for one month and gives users access to any tool added to the session itself for the entire duration. There are two versions of this package; one with room for 20 users and one with up to 30 users.

Demo: lasts for just two days and can be used to make sales presentations. Notice that while these sessions are free, they are detached from the data module and cannot be used for real trainings.

Company session: is a type of session made on a company subscription by either a super user or the subscription owner. The session can last for as long as the subscription is active and can have any number of participants.

Certification

How do I become a certified facilitator?

Are you a trainer, a consultant or a coach who heard about the Actee tools and games and want to become a certified facilitator, you can participate in one of our certification courses. These courses are arranged by our partners who are located in many different European countries. There are two ways of becoming certified:

Sign up for a planned course:

You can sign up for any course that has already been planned by either us or our partners. The courses can be found on this page:

Contact one of our partners and arrange a course:

If the dates of our planned course do not fit your schedule - or if you have a group of people who want to become certified, you are welcome to contact one of our partners and arrange for a certification course. You can find our partners through the following link:

Once you have participated in a certification course, you will be able to train others in the concept - or concepts, you have been certified in (e.g. ActeeChange, ActeeLeadership and/or ActeeCommunication). You can find a description of each of these concepts through this link:

How do I prepare for a certification course?

Before the start day of your certification, you must have a few things in order. Follow this simple step guide to become ready for your course and to get to know the games.

Step 1: Create a user

If you have not registered as a user yet, you will have to do that. Once you reach the page linked below, you must fill out the required information. This will give you access to a set of free games that you can preview ahead of the course.

Step 2: Find a concept and a game that interests you

Once registered and logged in, you must play a full-length game that are provided for free. But before that, we kindly ask you to investigate our three main concepts. If you are to be certified in using ActeeChange, you must naturally play one of the games within this concept. You can locate the games by going to the dashboard and clicking one of the three concepts. You can find more information about entering a game through this link:

Step 3: Play your first Actee game

The first thing you must do is to locate and play a game on your own. For this process, you have to use the singleplayer function. Playing a full-length game means that you must select the long version of the game you have selected (if there is a long version).

Step 4: Challenge a friend

Once you know how the game works, you must invite a friend or a colleague to a "battle". In this game mode, you compete against each other from two separate devices. If you and your colleague play the game simultaneously, you will get notified whenever one of you is in the lead - or whenever you lose the lead.

Here is a short guide to entering the battle mode:

- Find the game you want to play.

- Select the option "Challenge your friends".

- Submit the e-mails of the other participants.

- Start playing when your colleague has accepted the challenge through an e-mail invitation.

Step 5: Register as a Certified Consultant

Step 5 to 9 helps you locate the consultant toolbox that contains facilitation guides and other tools.

We value our certified consultants and facilitators. For this reason, anyone certified in an Actee concept can claim a free access to the games and tools. Below you will find a simple step guide on how to upgrade your user-status to that of a certified consultant. At the bottom of the page, there is also a link for a video instruction.

Click here for a video instruction.

Step 6. Log in to Actee

Step 7. Go to settings (it doesn't matter what subscription you are working on your profile will be the same)

step 8. Find the folder "are you certified" and press

Step 9. Edit and save the information and then you have access to the consultants toolbox.

You are supposed to see the consultant tool box under any tool box. containing script books, time schedules, theory ppt files. you are free to use them but at any time you need to keep the Actee logo and reference to Actee.

How do I claim my free consultant access and partner module?

We value our certified consultants and facilitators. For this reason, anyone certified in an Actee concept can claim a free access to the games and tools. Below you will find a simple step guide on how to upgrade your user-status to that of a certified consultant. At the bottom of the page, there is also a link for a video instruction.

It is great to have some cool information on the certified homepage (We do have a lot of people dropping by there😊).

If you want to fill in your information in a easy way, a lot of consultants are copying the description from LinkedIn. If you want to use the same image from your LinkedIn profile and download the image from LinkedIn you need to rename the image from LinkedIn to ending the file name with .jmg (picture file format accepted by Actee) you need rename the file after you have completed the download.

To be displayed on the home page is optional, you can click it on and off in the registration form. We of course preferer to have you there since you are certified and it makes us proud.

Here is a link on how to change your information: https://actee.com/faq/#changeyouprofile

What options do I have as a registered facilitator?

Certified facilitators will have access to several useful tools and possibilities that normal users do not. Here is a short list of the things you can do as a registered facilitator:

- Permanent access to all the games and tools

- Build you own games with the game builder

- Create sessions

- Create free demo sessions that can be used for presentations

- Access to the admin module

- The ability to become a super-user on company subscriptions

- Access to the consultant toolbox (containing facilitation guides and paper floorboards)

- The ability to create your own content, upload it and distribute to different sessions and subscriptions

FOL is a concept called Facilitate online learning created by Lars Hoffmann.

FOL is very inspiring and contributed with cool greetings, introducing the virtual code of conduct created by Lars.

Here is the Actee assumption of the rules.

- Have your camera at eye level.

- Use headphones including a mic.

- Be present with you mind and ready to engage.

- Use rooms and let participants have lots of dialog.

- Respond to faces and body languages.

Can I prevent participants moving from one chapter to the next?

Yes you can by clicking the stop moving to next chapter in the session view in the team-challange game mode. see more about game modes here: https://actee.com/faq/#gamemodesonlinefacilitation

here is the session view with you models. When the button becomes yellow it means you participants have entered the game and you can start following them.

The blue dots

When entering the session you will se a blue dot for each choice or chapter participants go over.

Above each group you can prevent the groups from moving on and you can look in to each choice made by the group when hovering with you mouse ver a dot.

Here is a collective look remember to mark see last choice from each group since some groups might have made 6 choices and other have only made 4.

Since the system doesn’t know the users it will not send the emails.

It has always been the policy because a receiver of an email from a system not known to the receiver will potentially cause a risk. But after we have added the schedule email functionality we need to correct this to be allowed

But it means you cannot send a system email to the participants before they are registered in the system (that’s the red error you get).

The way to send an invite to participants not know to the system is to send the link to the session or module in a separate mail from you own mailbox.

How to get the links to your session or module within your session.

Below is a picture from a session in the session-view

(you get to the session-view after completing your session or dashboard / admin / facilitation tools/ session-list / session-view is a link on the right or look it up here https://actee.com/faq/#whatisthesessionview).

You can send 2 types of links.

  1. For the session the users can see all module in the session (below is a session including 2 modules)
  2. For the specific module and the user will get directly to you module (game)

This video shows how to facilitate Actee leadership. Below the video you can find the questions participants are making in the session. the questions are also in the leadership games https://actee.com/games/ facilitation guides.

Note the session is made in a certification process find more about certifications here: https://actee.com/certifications/

Leader and result question (chapter 1)

In real life when did you focus to much on the results? And not on how you are perceived as a leader

Which choice do you think was the most important for you in terms of your results as a leader and business responsible?

When you look at these results what do they tell you about this leader?

Climate questions (chapter 2)

What do you do to change the climate?

How important is the climate at this point in the new leader game - and why?

What leadership style would you choose if you should move clarity (one of the climate barometers) in a positive direction?

What climate barometers is most difficult to handle for you (or in the game)

If you compromise the climate what do you need to do to get a positive climate back?

Leadership styles (chapter 3)

In what context this style of leadership works well and in what context not so well?

What is your own preferred style?

Do you recognize a leadership style that you need to practice getting to better outcomes in your own leadership?

You are close to your goal but are struggling with your team’s engagement, responsibility, and clarity, what does that tell you about the leadership style you have chosen?

Which leadership style could have given you a different result and why?

Perceptions for making choices (chapter 4)

What arguments decided what choices you made?

Which move in your opinion would have a great outcome from here?

What should be your next step and why?

Team questions (chapter 5)

Can you imagine one of your team members (back at work) who would react positive to the commanding style? (When and Why)

What happens to a team if one member constantly use the visionary (Obama) leadership style?

What is in your mind the most supportive leadership style for the start of a change?

When is it time to change the style and how do you see (experience) it is time to shift you style in a team?

Back at work (transfer learnings) (chapter 6)

What climate is most important for you work now?

How does your choices so far reflect your practice at home?

Is there a climate (barometer) you as a leader need to work on now or in the future?

This video shows how to facilitate Actee Change.

Tools and Treasures

What is the ChangeMeter?

The ChangeMeter is a survey tool you can use to get a good insight into the status of the change situation at hand by comparing your own take on the situation with relevant stakeholders.

Use the ChangeMeter to compare your own understanding with your recipients' (e.g. employees', team members') understanding of where you are in a process or with a specific change project. You will hereby reveal if there is a GAP between your take on the situation and if there are some aspects you need to pay more attention to going forward in the change process .

The ChangeMeter consists of 6 questions focusing on aspects relevant to concur in a change process. For example, as a leader or a project leader you can send out the ChangeMeter to your employees or project team members to get a better understanding of where you are in the process. Answer the 6 questions of the ChangeMeter and send the same questions to your recipients. Thus, you will be able plan your work efforts on a more informed basis and you will operate with an increased insight about what your team or employees need from you.

The two illustrations show the results of the ChangeMeter, where you can compare your own answer with the recipients' of the survey in a continuum and in a Board View respectively. Before filling in your answers and sending out the ChangeMeter, you need to mark which phase(s) in the change you are focusing on: Initial Actions, Implementation and/or Anchoring.

Step Guide - use the ChangeMeter

What is a ChangeMeter?
The ChangeMeter is a short survey with six questions. It allows you to discover the discrepancy between how you think the change process is proceeding and how your employees/stakeholders see the change process. It simply reveals if there is a gap in your understanding of the situation where it makes certain areas stand out that helps focus your efforts.

How to Use It?
You start by answering the six questions in the survey yourself. Hereafter, you send the same questions to your employees/stakeholders. You answer the questions by moving the pointer on the continuum.

How Long does it Take?
Answering the six questions and sending out the survey will take you about 15 minutes. Then you will get back the answers of your recipients, which will give you an instant overview of the energy and spirit towards the change among you. After using the ChangeMeter survey you will need time to decide which of the areas you want to work with, and how to do it.

The ChangeLive tool

This is a short guide on how to create a project in the ChangeLive tool. Use ChangeLive to track projects that leads to changes in your organization. By tracking activites and energy of the change in ChangeLive, you get a better understanding of what you can do to secure a smooth change process and manage your stakeholders.

The Actee Toolbox

Our toolbox can be used to access relevant files to help manage your organizational development. In the toolbox you will find exercises and tools to help you understand common obstacles in change processes, leadership dilemmas and in communication. The toolbox can be accessed by either being attached as a module to a session or by being attached to a copany subscription as either a regular user or a super user.

The Consultant Toolbox

This version of the toolbox can only be accessed by people who are certified in one of the three main concepts. This toolbox contains guides on how to facilitate the games and also documents on the theoretical framework that the games are based on. This toolbox can be accessed as soon as you are registered as a certified consultant and can be found in the folder 'Facilitation tools'.

How do I print a handout for my participants?

Handouts can be downloaded after picking a game and selecting game mode. Just before entering the game itself, you will have the opportunity of changing the language of the game and also to download a handout as a PDF. Notice that the download prompts a pop-up window that some browser applications will block automatically – simply click the pop-up message in your browser to allow the file to be downloaded.

What is the difference between facilitation guides and handouts?

The facilitation guides can be used to facilitate a training. The guides contain background knowledge of the simulations as well as relevant topics for discussion. It is important that the participants do not see the guide as it contains “spoilers” on which choices are particularly beneficial which would turn focus towards the score instead of newfound knowledge and personal experience.

StyleTrade Tool and Exercise

StyleTrade – is an on-line Actee concept

The StyleTrade works this way: as a leader/trainee participating in a session including StyleTrade, the participant picks out a number (12) of statements, that she/he thinks fit her/him best as a leader and person, and discard the rest of the statements.

Behind each of the statements lies a leadership or change or communication style or any other style you might think of – but the participant does not know what statement relates to what style or does not know that there is a connection between statement and style at all.

One of the standard Actee StyleTrade is based on Goleman’s six styles of leadership.

Instead of one of the standard Six Styles it could be the any leadership model.

Imagine a leadership model with 4 Leadership Roles let s call it “The 4 styles” with e.g. 25 written statements to match each Role – 100 in all. Imagine this 4 styles coach, player, shooter, thinker

1. By picking “a deck” of 12 statements out of a possible 24 presented, the participant will create a “4 Role Profile” of her/his own.

This profile is interesting to dive into: it could be, that none of the chosen statements related to – let’s say – Coach, and only one related to player, and the rest to shooter and thinker.

This process can be facilitated into both reflection and discussion of profile and talk about focus, blind spots and strengths, individually and at a group level.

2. When each of the participants - in a group session - has picked the 12 statements, it is time to swap statements between the participants in the session.

The participants will try to get rid of statements they think fits them the least, and get statements from others that fit them better. This process will drive insights into how do others see me – why do you think this statement fits me? Or thanks, I’m happy you acknowledge that side of me! This is done in the room or virtually, but always on-line via an individual device: smartphone, tablet, pc.

There is a lot of moving around and discussion on who do you think I am….

3. At the end, the participant will have an even more fitting “4 Role Profile” than the one the picked for themselves originally. All is done online using a device: smartphone, tablet, pc and the Actee StyleTrade tool.

Would this be interesting to dive into?

“The 4 styles ” StyleTrade would then be your own to use and price for the profile you have created is set as you see fit.

Your work:

The recommendation and work you need to do is to write 25 (or more) statements per Role – 100 all in all. Writing the 100 statements would be your job.

Statement examples: “I continuously raise my own expectations to my own performance”, “I inspire others to adopt my visions”, I often prioritize the quality of the result over the employees ownership to the task”. From Six Styles StyleTrade.

This is how easy it is to incorporate you own leadership, change, communication or alike model in to Actee styletrade.

If you want to test a styletrade you need to reg as a user for free on Actee and then go for tools to find the styletrade.

Note you can invite a colleague to swop with or you can do it by yourself to get your profile.

Subscription

Thread incomplete

How does a subscription work?

Having an Actee Subscription is essential to using the tools to their full extent - regardless of the amount of sessions you are going to run. Depending on your needs you can choose from four different subscription plans to get started with using Actee games and tools. Note that all subscriptions, except for Actee Free subscriptions, are recurring.

All subscription plans are recurring, which means that your subscription will automatically be renewed at the end of your subscription period. If you have used all accesses on your subscription before the end of your subscription, you will need to buy a new subscription in order to work with learning sessions on your company subscription.

If your company has not yet a subscription plan, you can check out the prices and solutions here.

What kind of subscription should I choose?

Getting access to creating sessions is tied up to a subscription. We offer four levels of subscriptions to choose between depending on the number of people you will onboard your subscription and how advanced you need your game learning toolbox to be.

On our price page you can check out the four levels of subscription options:

1. Actee Free
2. Engagement in Learning
3. Pro Approach to Learning
4. The Large Level Learning

Choose the subscription depending on the size of your company - or the amount of clients you are going to train, the extent you plan to roll out the learning program with your company subscription, as well as the advancement of the game learning toolbox you want to have access to.

A subscription is recurring and will automatically be renewed once every year. When you have used all accesses on the subscription deal, you will have to buy a new subscription to drive sessions on the subscription.

If you are working in a consultancy, your access to working with the learning game universe will be from either the 'Engagement in Learning', 'Pro Approach to Learning', or the Actee Free subscription. The first two will allow you to create sessions and invite participants using a pool of accesses from the subscription. On Actee Free, you must purchase Try-it-Out packages for evey time you want to do a session with clients.

Subscription versus Try-it-Out Package?

When does it make sense to set up a subscription plan and when should I just go with a Try-it-Out Package?

A subscription: You can choose from 4 different subscription plans depending on the number of participants you want to onboard and depending on your level of engagement in cool learning methods and tools. The subscriptions called 'Engagement in Leaning' and 'Pro Approach to Learning' can be purchased by consultancy firms and companies alike and will give access to a certain amount of users. This will allow the subscription owners to either run sessions with other companies as trainings - or to resctrict access to the platform so that only users from within the comapny can join. The subscription called 'Large Level Learning' can only be purchased by enterprises as the user access is restricted by e-mail domains added to the subscription. This is done to ensure that only users from the specific company can get access to the platform. Actee control the domain attached to your subscription and this ensures it is only your people who can access the domain. The fourth subscription is called Actee Free and will give you access to purchasing Try-it-Out packages. You are able to execute sessions on your Actee Free subscriptions but they will require payment for every session.

You can invite external consultants in to your subscription as super users and give certain rights like making games for you or collecting profiles and benchmarking reports on learning and theory.

The exception to this is Superusers, who can be invited  to drive sessions and work with the tools available in Actee.

A Try-it-Out Package: You can buy a Try-it-Out Package as a one-off access. Every Try-it-Out Package gives access to up to 20 participants in one session. If you need to onboard more than 20 participant to a session, you can just buy an additional package for the purpose. But if you need to onboard an even larger number of participants for a session, you should consider if it makes sense to set up a subscription plan instead. Try-it-Out packages can be purchased from Actee Free platforms and subscriptions alike.

Click the link below for prices and the tools attached to a certain subscription plan:

https://actee.com/prices/

What are the different user types?

There are four types of users: Normal, Super User, Subscription Owner and Certified Consultant.

Normal Users: have access to the Actee Free page and any subscription they are invited to or are eligible to join via their e-mail address. Normal users cannot create their own games and has a limited toolbox and session builder compared to certified users.

Super Users: have some administrator rights on company subscriptions and partner modules in which they are tagged as super users. This type of user can create sessions on company subscriptions, create new games and keep an eye on the data modules provided in company subscriptions.

Subscription Owners: are charged with the administration of company subscriptions or partner modules. In this sense, the subscription owner is an upgraded sort of super user that also handles the payment and possible upgrades of the current company subscriptions.

Certified Consultants: can create and administrate their own partner module. They will also have access to the consultant toolbox, which contains facilitation guides.

What is a Super User?

If you are working from an ActeeFree platform, you already work with many of the tools that are available to a super user on a company subscription. In order to gain access to work with an extended catalogue of tools and administration tasks on a company subscription, you need to be invited into the subscription as a super user.

Depending on the subscription level that the company subscription has access to, the super user can have different rights to operate within the platform.

As a super user you can have access to several subscriptions as long as you are invited into the company subscription by the subscription owners.

What is a Subscription Owner?

A subscription owner is the administrator of respectively a company subscription and/or an ActeeFree paltform, which comes with a range of exclusive editing rights on the subscription.

Every company subscription as well as Actee Free platforms come with one subscription owner position! The subscription owner is a white label admin, which means that the subscription owner can customize the subscription with color, logo, and pictures and toolbox content.

The subscription owner can invite Superusers to the company subscription and control a range of administrative funktions on the subscription.

It is possible for a subscription owner to transfer the subscription ownership to a Superuser. This can only be done with the help from Actee support - call us or write an e-mail if you need help with this!

You can always find the user stat under subscription admin.

Consultancy - what are my options as a consultant?

Consultancies are able to utilize Actee tools in two different ways depending on how much you plan to use the tools. As an external consultant, you are able to either register your own ActeeFree platform from which you can use the Game Builder and create Try-it-Out sessions that can be used once with a group of participants. The other option is to purchase either the 'Engagement in Learning'- or 'Large Level Learning' subscriptions. These subscriptions will give you a platform and a pool of licenses and sessions that can be used in trainings with clients. When deciding which solution is intersting to you, you should think about how many clients you are going to train throughout the next year. If you will be training more than 50 participants, you should look into the subscription solutions. See the prices here

If you are going to facilitate a learning session with a customer, you need to find out if they already have a subscription. If the customer already has a subscription, you can go ahead and ask for an invitation to get access as a superuser to their subscription system from where you can drive sessions and show games designed on your own subscription or in your ActeeFree platform.

How to give new users access to a session?

There are basically two ways you can give users access to a session - either because the users can get access via a Company subscription with an active subscription or by activating a Try-it-Out Package with space for 20 user accesses per package.

How does a subscription work?

A subscription is relevant in connection to a Company Hub. Depending on your needs you can choose from three different subscription plans to get started with using Actee games and tools. Note that all subscriptions are recurring.

All subscription plans are recurring, which means that your subscription will automatically be renewed at the end of your subscription period. Business - what kind of subscription should I choose?

Getting access to the full value of Actee is tied up to a subscription. We offer three levels of subscriptions to choose between depending on the number of people you will onboard and how much value you want to gain from Actee, this includes benchmark and access to tool like the game builder.

On our price page you can check out the three levels of subscription options and the tools available in each subscription plan:

1. Engagement in learning
2. Pro approach to learning
3. The large level learning

Choose the subscription depending on the size of your company, the extent you plan to roll out the learning program in your company, as well as the advancement of the game learning toolbox you want to have access to.

A subscription is recurring and will automatically be renewed once every year. When you have used all accesses on the subscription plan, you will have to buy a new subscription to drive sessions and learnings flows.

If you are working in a consultancy, your access to working with the learning game universe will be from a free 'Partner Admin Module'. Learn more here: What is a Partner Admin Module?

My payment transaction fails?

If your payment was declined, one of the most common reasons is Do not honor - financial jargon for "The payment was declined by your card issuer, and they won't tell us why".

To prevent this from happening again, call your card issuing bank, tell them that the transaction was declined by them (you can mention "error code 05 - do not honor") and ask them to allow future payments from Actee

After they confirm that future payments will go through it is recommended to wait 30 minutes before trying to pay for the subscription or session again.

It is also important to make sure that:

  • You entered the correct CVV code (the 3 digits on the back of your card)
  • You've entered the correct billing information (Adress, Country ect.)
  • The card is approved for international/online purchases
  • There are sufficient funds available
  • The card is not expired or canceled
  • The card has not been reported stolen or lost

Alternatively, you can always try with a different card, as that may also do the trick.

PS: If you don't have the number of your card issuing bank, it may show on the back of your card.

How can I buy a floorboard?

The physical floorboard can be used in addition to the online ActeeChange simulation game, which is used to gather all participants around a physical game board during a game session for discussions about the positions of the boats and stakeholders.

It is not necessary to have our physical floorboard to play any ActeeChange game. The online game board that shows the results as the player(s) progress in the game can stand alone without the physical floorboard. In a facilitation situation, the SessionView tool can give the participants an overview and a status of all ongoing games and the position of the different groups in a session.

If you would like to order a floorboard, you can send us an email at info@actee.com
The price for an ActeeChange floorboard including four boats with stakeholders is 2000 euros. VAT excluded.

Depending on the subscription level that the Company has access to, the Superuser can have different rights to operate within the subscription.

As a Superuser you can have access to several subscriptions as long as you are invited into the Company subscription by the subscription owners. This also applies to consultant admin modules (similar to company subscriptions but without an option to execute)

What is a subscription owner?

A subscription owner is the administrator of respectively a Company subscription and a Partner Admin Module, which comes with a range of exclusive editing rights on the subscription or Partner Admin Module.

Every subscription as well as Partner Admin Module come with one owner position! The owner is a white label admin, which means that the owner can customize the hub with color, logo, and pictures and toolbox content. the owner also controls invoices and infomation about usages.

The owner can invite Superusers and also allow superusers to be able to invite other superusers to the subscription and control a range of administrative functions.

It is possible for a owner to transfer the ownership to a superuser. This can only be done with the help from Actee support.

Subscription versus Try-it-Out Package?

When does it make sense to set up a subscription plan and when should I just go with a Try-it-Out Package?

A subscription: You can choose from 3 different subscription plans depending on the number of participants you want to onboard and depending on your level of engagement in cool learning methods and tools. A subscription means that you can't onboard users who are related to the company email domain. Actee control the domain attached to your subscription and this ensures it is only your people who can access the domain.

you can also invites external consultants in to your subscription as super users and give certain rights like making games for you or collecting profiles and benchmarking reports on learning and theory.

The exception to this is Superusers, who can be invited  to drive sessions and work with the tools available in Actee. A Superuser in this context will typically be a consultant who operates from a Partner Admin Hub.

Data

Is Actee safe?

Yes, Actee complies to all applicable encryption rules and secures your information against potential intruders.

Can people see my personal information?

The answer is short and simple - no. Your private digital data is safe with us.

How can I use data on Actee?

You can use data to learn more about what your choices in the games mean. The data works to connect the learned theory with your personal preferences - which makes the learning more transferable to workplace practice.

The games you play on your subscription will accumulate data that shows your preferences of choices and style of decision-making.

All games are based on theory. Every time you make a choice in a game, you will learn about your choice from a theoretical perspective. Data is drawn from this theoretical framework based on your choices, which configures your profile.

All users will develop a personal profile through the games they play. The more games you use for the purpose, the more you will learn about your preferences e.g. for work methods, workplace relations, and leadership style.

Organizations and businesses with their own customized subscription have access to the data-profiles of all game sessions on their subscription. This means that the data can be used to get an insight into the current status of the organization: E.g. where are people in a change process, what are their leadership preferences or how do people prefer to work with a project or a process?

All customized subscriptions will have access to the Data-Module tool, which enables you as an owner of the subscription to get an overview of your profile(s) and compare it across businesses and time. In this way, the tool can be used to set development goals and measure changes and results.

How to clear cache in Firefox
How to clear cache in Safari
How to clear cache in Explorer and Edge*

*If you still experience technical problems, it might help to try the game or tool in another browser. Some browsers are more updated than others. Here is our experience with the different browsers:

Try and change your browser:

Chrome  (most used)
Safari (great)
Firefox (perfect)
Edge (will work too)
Explorer (is outdated but might run anyway)

It still doesn't work...

If changing browser doesn’t help and you keep getting this message, you are probably getting a bit irritated but please stay with us for little longer.

It will help us tremendously if you send an email to info@actee.com with this information:

Name of the game you are playing or the tool you are using.
(If in a game) The chapter where you are getting this error.
(If in a game) If you remember the choice you took just before the error.
Your user email (login info).
The browser you are using.

If you panic or are in a hurry you can do two things

  1. Call us at 0045 70707505 and scream “SUPPORT!!!!”
  2. Use the chat box in the bottom of the page when you get to www.actee.com
